Silk

100% pure silk is called ‘shoken’in Japanese. It is a natural fibrous material that is spun silk into yarn.  It is said that wearing shoken is warm in winter and cool in summer.  The shoken silk is very weak to heat and water.  Therefore it must be careful if you do the washing and ironing by yourself.

Cotton

Momen kimono is made from cotton. It is very light and strong fabrics. Therefore it is very popular for daily use.

In addition, it’s very strong against heat and water. You can easily wash by yourself at home.


Wool

A kimono made from wool is very warm and it is worn as a casual wear. You can wear it from October until May.


Polyester

Hemp
